Here are some gems that were captured.
The favor tags that I made. I totally stole the idea from a friend of a friend, here.

First note the bottom circle. The cupcake has been altered...and by altered, I mean licked. I have photographic evidence (actually, Jackie has it) leading me to believe that the culprit is a one Ms. Virginia.

Virginia's sister, Ella, was also on hand. Today Ella will be playing the part of "kid who is most disinterested in confetti." Click on the photo for a larger version where you can fully see the disinterest.
Mimi, Elizabeth's daughter, will play the role of "wtf is that kid doing?"

And then we see the mastermind behind Mimi's weirdness is M2.0. No surprise there.

Violet had a great birthday party. The hit of the party was the balloon launcher we received from Jim, Steph and Liam. That thing is so awesome. Guess what every kid we know is getting for Christmas?
Once again we were amazed by the borderline obscene generosity of our friends and family. We'll be posting more photos of gifts later. Today was a long, great day.
================
Maybe it is coincidence, maybe it is not, but as of today, Violet now likes to fake laugh. It took exactly one family gathering where she could understand what's going on to pick up fake laughing. She is a genius.

Congrats on getting through the first birthday party! But, you were made for these things anyway. I'm happy the launcher worked out. I'll move you onto air-powered rockets in a couple of years. A friend of mine has one, and it shoots so high that I can't even see it for a significant period of time.
ugh, off to sleep now. I'm up way too late trying to priceline a hotel in boston for tuesday night. Might need to give up arm and leg.
I apologize for the cupcake incident. My daughter is indeed guilty!
Happy Birthday Violet!!! Sounds like you kept Mommy and Daddy very busy!!! :-)
