New Year's Eve 2010 -- The After Party

Big thanks to our friends, the Creeches, for hosting an impromptu NYE party...filled with some of the usual NYE activities and the not so usual.

For example. Drinking champagne. Usual. Drinking champagne with snake wrapped around stem of champagne glass. Awesome!

Here's where the kids get a lesson in "what happens when snake eats mouse."

The kids first time to use sparklers. I instilled the fear of God in them before they were allowed to touch them. They were so scared of the sparklers, they would jump when I would move the unlit sparklers.

There's just a lot going on in this photo.

He looks miserable, but I look good = posted!

Violet @ Three Years: Month Six

Violet -

You turned 3.5 this month. Since then, we've been running around and having fun. You are currently so much fun. I want to bottle you and keep you this age forever.

I'm not saying you don't have your moments of llama drama. You do. But even when you're upset, you're pretty cute.

This morning you thought Daddy and I were laughing at you (we were actually laughing with you). You yelled your standard issue of threats: "I'm very angry. For ever. Never. Ever. So angry."

You love to say "poo poo" and you still think the "chicken butt" joke is hilarious. Three months and counting on the chicken butt joke thing...you're making me regret telling you.

Especially cause you tell the joke at school and you tell the school to store cashiers, etc. Really, you tell everyone. And your delivery does not indicate a strength in comedic timing.

"Guess what? Chicken butt."

If you're going to tell the joke, you really need to pause after "guess what."

You love to sing. Your singing often incorporates your mood of the moment. For example, yesterday, "My Mommy is so mean to make me pick up my clothes."

Nice song. Get back to work.

OK, that's it for this update. It's late. It's New Years Eve and while I don't do resolutions, I did make myself promise to get this update out before the strike of midnight...so hooray for me and happy 3.5 Birthday to you.

We love you.

The Family Photo

These are the "best" three. Why didn't anyone tell me that I was dressed like a GD jedi knight today? I knew I should have worn my customary black. Gah.

Bowling with the Volzei

Sly, the role model.

Mia's first time to bowl! If she is any indication of the Norwegian proclivity towards bowling...watch out America. The girl threw it down!

The Zoo This Morning

I'd like to thank our local weathermen for telling everyone that it would be raining today, because there was no one at the zoo, the parking rocked and the weather was quite nice.

Violet and her friend Mia (who is visiting from Norway):

Mia's Mom, Andrea, my longtime friend who now lives in Norway:

Here's where the photos take a dark turn. Let's play spot the stalker (AKA. our friend, Alanna).

Aunt Mae Lin, the Predator

While Skyping last night, the connection kept glitching and pixilating Aunt Mae Lin. She looked like the Predator and it was most excellent!

Violet, too scared to look at Aunt Mae Lin.
